Your diploma, translated and certified — so your education counts here too

A degree earned abroad opens doors in the U.S. only once it is in English — credential evaluation agencies, universities, licensing boards and employers all require a certified, word-for-word translation before they will look at it. EKO 4 delivers exactly that: a complete translation by a sworn human translator with a signed certificate of translation accuracy on official letterhead and our wet stamp, backed by our 100% acceptance guarantee.

Diplomas are dense with formal language — honors, degree titles, faculty names, seals and Latin phrases — and evaluators expect them rendered faithfully, not interpreted. Our academic terminology practice translates what your diploma says and lets the evaluator do the equivalency; a native-speaking proofreader reviews every line before certification. Since 1991 we strive to be the most affordable, the most accurate, providing the best quality of service — from any of our 72 languages, express in 24 hours when you need it.

What evaluators and USCIS require from a diploma translation

Credential evaluation agencies and USCIS (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)) publish the same core rules — every certified translation we deliver meets them all:

  • A complete, word-for-word English translation — the degree title, honors, dates, faculty and institution names, seals, stamps and signatures — everything on the diploma, nothing summarized or “localized”.
  • The translator’s signed certification — a statement that the translator is competent in both languages and that the translation is accurate and complete, with name, signature, address and date.
  • An independent, professional translator — evaluators and USCIS reject translations made by the applicant or family members — the translator must be an impartial third party.
  • A legible copy of the original attached — the translation is submitted together with a copy of your diploma — your original document never leaves you.
  • Faithful rendering, not equivalency — the translation must state what the document says — determining the U.S. equivalent of your degree is the evaluator’s job, and a translation that editorializes gets rejected.

I was really glad that I used EKO 4 Translations Florida to translate my diploma. The team was qualified and replied fast to my emails. Even though I was not in Miami, they sent me an email with explanation about the closest office where I could pick up hard copy and sent me a PDF file of copy. I highly recommend this office.

Diploma translation — questions & answers

1Will credential evaluation agencies accept your translation?
Yes. Agencies such as WES and ECE publish the same requirements we certify to: a complete, literal, word-for-word English translation with the translator’s signed statement of accuracy and competence. That is exactly the package you receive, backed by our 100% acceptance guarantee.
2Do you convert my degree into its U.S. equivalent?
No — and that is by design. Equivalency (“this maítrise equals a master’s degree”) is the evaluation agency’s job. A translation that decides equivalency on its own is rejected; ours renders your diploma faithfully, which is what the evaluator needs to do theirs.
3My diploma has Latin honors, old script and embossed seals — can you translate it?
Yes. Honors and mottos are translated, embossed and inked seals are transcribed and translated, and anything genuinely illegible is marked as such per standard certification practice — from any of our 72 languages, including documents decades old.
4Do I need my transcript translated as well?
Usually yes — evaluators and universities almost always want the diploma and the academic transcript together, since the diploma proves the degree and the transcript shows the coursework behind it. We translate both in one order; see our transcript translation service.
5How fast can I get my diploma translated?
Most diplomas are a single page: express 24-hour service is available, and urgent diplomas are often ready the same day. Notarization can be added by the next business day, and an apostille as fast as 4 business days for use abroad.
